Meet Dr. Freed, Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Freed was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, the youngest of four siblings. He graduated from Crescent Valley High School and subsequently attended the University of Oregon. Dr. Freed received his doctorate in Behavioral Neuroscience from MIT. He served on the faculty at the University of Southern California and later at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. In a change of careers, Dr. Freed moved back to Oregon and worked as the Chief of Psychology at Oregon State Hospital. Dr. Freed has been in private practice since 2000.

In the past, Dr. Freed has worked as an intake specialist, youth project instructor, school psychologist, university professor, research scientist, clinical supervisor, and clinical administrator. He has more than 30 years of clinical experience with neurological and developmental disorders in clinics, hospitals, and group homes. Dr. Freed often receives referrals from physicians who are seeking diagnostic clarification for their clients with complicated medical histories. Dr. Freed sees adults of all ages and children above the age of 10.

A neuropsychological evaluation can serve many purposes such as providing a formal diagnosis, making recommendations for academic accommodations, and guiding future treatment. Helping clients understand their symptoms can serve to provide practical strategies (and hope) for a better future.
